Valdemar says PL candidate is Bolsonaro or ‘only who he chooses’

PL national president Valdemar Costa Neto stressed that former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is the party candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, but made room for him to be replaced. In Valdemar’s words, however, only Bolsonaro will say who will be his replacement in next year’s presidential elections.

The manager also stated that Rio de Janeiro councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL) will have the support to be a candidate for the Senate in Santa Catarina or “any state he wants.”

“Our candidate for president of the Republic is Jair Bolsonaro or who he, and only him, choose. And as for Carlos Bolsonaro, we follow firmly in his candidacy for the Senate by Santa Catarina, or (in) any state he wants,” Valdemar said in the X.

The statement occurs amid the intensification of movements about who will inherit the former president’s voters, who is still ineligible by 2030 by two convictions of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and will be tried by the Supreme Court (STF) by coup d’état next Tuesday, 2.
