Vigil ends in confusion after man speaks in favor of Bolsonaro’s arrest
The evangelical vigil called by senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) to pray for Jair Bolsonaro’s health ended with turmoil and confusion after a man who introduced himself as a pastor spoke in favor of the former president’s arrest.
Ismael Lopes, 34 years old, asked to speak and was called by Flávio Bolsonaro at around 8:15 pm. Next to Flávio, Lopes read a biblical passage saying that “whoever digs holes in them will be swallowed”. He then asked for Bolsonaro to be condemned for actions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Immediately, Lopes ran out and was chased and attacked by Bolsonaro supporters. The Military Police (PM) separated the evangelical’s attackers with pepper spray. He was then escorted into an app car.
The boy received punches and kicks, in addition to having one of the sleeves of the dress shirt he was wearing ripped. Flávio Bolsonaro asked those present at the event not to attack Lopes, but he was ignored.
Lopes says he is a member of the Front of Evangelicals for the Rule of Law, the same one that organizes the events of first lady Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, with evangelicals.
The boy, who is not a pastor, says that he did not come in coordinated action from the Front, but that he informed the leaders of the movement that he would try to speak at the Bolsonarist event.
Lopes states that, in order to speak, he presented himself as a representative of an evangelical movement that is present in 19 states.
