Vital do Rêgo Filho is elected president of TCU for 2025
The Federal Audit Court (TCU) announced this Wednesday (4) that minister Vital do Rêgo Filho was elected president of the Court for the year 2025. The vote took place in the court’s plenary session.
Minister Jorge Oliveira, in turn, was elected vice-president for the same year. There was unanimity in the decision.
The inauguration ceremony will be on December 11th. Mandates are for one year, with the possibility of reappointment for the same period.
Vital do Rêgo is the current vice-president of the Court. He was a senator for Paraíba from 2011 until 2014, when he took office at TCU.
Minister Jorge Antonio de Oliveira Francisco entered the Court at the end of 2020. Appointed by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), he served as minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic.
The current president of the TCU, minister Bruno Dantas, will be in charge of the court until the end of 2024.
