Vorcaro carried out a survey with PGR and PF investigators about plea bargains
Banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, carried out an initial survey with investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Federal Police (PF) about the possibility of making a plea bargain agreement.
This first conversation took place a few days after he was arrested by order of the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça, on Wednesday of last week, the 4th. The negotiations are at an initial stage and there has not yet been, for example, the signing of a confidentiality agreement, which formalizes a negotiation of this type.
The negotiations were initially announced by the UOL and confirmed by Estadão with sources that follow the case.

Vorcaro’s defense denied that he was negotiating a plea bargain. “Daniel Vorcaro’s defense declares that the news related to Daniel Vorcaro’s plea bargain negotiations initiative is untrue. This information never came from any of the lawyers involved in the case, and its disclosure has the sole objective of harming the exercise of the defense at this sensitive moment”, says the note.
The team of lawyers for the businessman’s family and the investigators assess that the progress of these conversations depends on the outcome of the trial on his freedom, which will begin on Friday (13) in the STF’s virtual plenary session.
The businessman made harsh complaints to his lawyers shortly after being arrested and signaled that he was not willing to face a long period of preventive custody, according to sources who follow the case.
After being arrested in São Paulo, he was transferred to a federal penitentiary in Brasília. His lawyers requested that visits to the businessman not be recorded or monitored by cameras, as is the standard in this type of establishment.
The initial idea in the plea agreement would be for the team of the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, to lead the negotiations. The PF could participate in the collection of statements, but the terms and clauses would be negotiated and discussed with the PGR.
