We need leaders who dialogue with the world, regardless of ideology, says Flávio
Senator and presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) once again criticized the absence of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) at the inauguration of José Antonio Kast, elected new president of Chile this week.
Without directly citing the PT member, Flávio published a video on social media highlighting that Brazil needs to have leaders who dialogue with the world, regardless of political ideology.
“We need leaders and governors capable of dialoguing with the entire world, regardless of ideology. Enough of people who don’t know how to live with those who think differently. Brazil is much bigger than the vanity of some people. Latin America can do more! Brazil can do more!”, he declared.
Flávio Bolsonaro was invited by the right-wing Kast to participate in the inauguration. As head of state, President Lula had also been invited, but declined to participate at the last minute after learning that Jair’s son would also be present.
To the press, Flávio compared the new Chilean president with Lula and criticized the PT member’s absence. “Kast is much bigger than Lula. If I were him, I would rest, he already did what he had to do in Brazil”, he stated.
“Lula was very small with this stance, he cannot live with people who think differently than him. Chile is an important commercial partner of Brazil, it can be an outlet for the Pacific Ocean with the bioceanic corridor. He fails to defend the interests of Brazilians and puts a personal issue, a tantrum, resentment, in first place”, he added to journalists in Valparaíso, Chile.
With a conservative profile, Kast has a very close relationship with the Bolsonaro family. Jair has expressed admiration for Kast several times and received support in the 2022 elections against Lula.
