Who is the Brazilian who ruled coral in the first mass of Pope Leo 14

Pavan led the liturgical music in the nine days of Francisco’s funeral mass. In an interview with the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, he said that everything was organized, because it was already known of the fragility of the health of the Pontiff. He only put the “turning machine” after receiving the news of the death. He also directed the choir in the funeral ceremonies of Benedict 16.
In response to a special request from Pope Francis, his official appointment took place on Santa Cecilia’s day, Patron Saint of the musicians, on November 22. Pavan considered the choice of date a delicate gesture on the part of the pontiff.
During the Holy Friday during the Lockdown period, Pavan performed at São Pedro Square in the face of a historic scenario: Only five singers and the Pope. “Then he walked to the square for that prayer that entered history – his image alone, representing all humanity at that moment of pandemic. I keep it with great affection,” he told Folha.
Currently, Pavan coordinates a group of about 55 singers, 20 adult professionals and 35 children between 9 and 13 years old. According to him, the Pope had an affectionate relationship with the little ones and, during the December 31, 2024 mass, greeted them with a “jewelry” gesture.
