Woman who survived Nazis, Chernobyl and Covid-19 dies run over
The 54 -year -old caregiver was hospitalized and survived. Police said he suffered some leg injuries and was taken to a hospital in stable conditions.

She survived the Chernobyl disaster
Mayya Gil is a survivor of the Nazi invasion of Ukraine. She was also present when the Chernobyl disaster occurred and faced the Covid-19 pandemic.
The woman was born in Khmelnytskyi, in western Ukraine. She moved to the capital Kiev with her mother and brother when she was 12 years old to escape the Nazi invasion, according to the New York Times article published in 2020. Gil met her husband Vilyam in Kiev and had her twin daughters while living under the domain Soviet.
After the devastating nuclear disaster of Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986, one of her daughters moved to New York. Six years later, in 1992, the rest of the family also traveled to live in the United States. The family chose the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, where they became active members of the community in the local Jewish community center.
