Young people are missing class to see Francisco’s tomb: ‘First we saw’
Although not Catholics, the teenagers were impressed by the commotion around Francisco. The visit was not planned, but everyone had the same idea and ended up going together.
Nine days after Francisco’s funeral, the basilica continues to receive many visitors. According to Civil Protection and local employees, about 40,000 people visit the site daily.
Sergio Tuo, a Lombardy entrepreneur, expressed concern about the future of the church. He fears that the next Pope does not follow Francis’ progressive line and resume a more conservative stance.
Choice of the new Pope
Behind the scenes of the Vatican, preparations to choose from Francisco’s successor are underway. On the afternoon of Monday, there will be the oath of the employees of the Conclave in the Paulina Chapel.
