Gunman hurts at least six students at university in Florida, USA
Wounded were taken to the Healthcare Memorial Tallahassee. Hospital is “receiving and taking care of patients,” says a statement on social networks.
According to ABC News, one of the injured is in critical condition and another five in serious condition. “We want to ensure the community that our teams are fully mobilized and prepared to provide the highest level of care and support to all affected,” the hospital said.
Student reported that chaos settled after the shots. Daniella Streety told NBC News having seen a student be taken on a stretcher and stayed on the street until the ambulance arrived. “There was another student injured there too, and they had to transport him in an office chair to the street to be taken by the ambulance,” he said.
Streety was in a building about 15 meters from the scene. “Some teachers who work in the building where I am ran inside after the sirens sounded and housed with me. They said they heard the shots and were running,” said the student.
University canceled the entire agenda of university classes and events, and said police serve the occurrence. “Keep housing at the scene. Police authorities are actively cleaning the rooms on the main campus,” says FSU’s latest update on his site.
All university classes and events, including sporting events, scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025, were canceled. People who are not yet on the main campus at this time should avoid going to the main campus of Tallahassee. Florida State University, in a statement
