Moraes has former minister Gilson Machado release
The minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Court (STF), had former minister Gilson Machado releasewho headed the tourism portfolio during the government of Jair Bolsonaro. 
THE Politician was arrested on Friday morning (13), in Recife, by determination of the minister for suspected of trying to issue a Portuguese passport to former Jair Bolsonaro orders, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cidwhistleblower in investigations into the coup plot.
After the decision, Gilson Machado’s lawyer, Célio Avelino, said the warrant of release has already been issued. With the document, the former minister is expected to be released in the next few hours.

Replacing the arrest, Gilson must comply with precautionary measures, such as mandatory attendance to court, cancellation of the passport, banning of leaving the country and maintaining contact with investigated by the scammer plot.
In the morning, Mauro Cid gave testimony to the Federal Police (PF) and denied having the intention of leaving the country. According to investigations, his family boarded the United States last month.
In March this year, Moraes charged the military’s explanations about the attempt to obtain the Portuguese passport.
At the time, lawyer Cesar Bittencourt said that Cid filed a request for Portuguese citizenship on January 11, 2023 (after the attacks on January 8). According to the defense, the request was made “only and exclusively” because his wife and daughters already have Portuguese citizenship.
Bittencourt confirmed that the Portuguese ID card was issued and sent in 2024. The lawyer also said that “Portuguese portfolio is just an identification document”, which is valid in that country.
