Lula on Jorge Messias’ nomination to the STF: ‘Let me get to Brazil first’
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that he will only make his next appointment to the Federal Supreme Court when he returns to Brazil. Asked by Estadão whether he would nominate Minister Jorge Messias, from AGU, upon returning from his international trip, Lula discussed the moment, but not the name.
Government members take the president’s decision to choose Messias to replace Luís Roberto Barroso for granted.
“Let me get to Brazil first, let me get there,” said Lula this Tuesday morning, 28th, Malaysia local time.
