Trump considers handing out $2,000 in tariff money

United States President Donald Trump said today that he is considering distributing $2,000 to American citizens from the money made from tariffs on foreign goods.

What happened

Trump criticized those who do not support his tax regime on foreign products. “The people who are against tariffs are stupid!” wrote the president on his social network Truth Social this morning.

He argued that taxes are bringing trillions of dollars into the US. Without showing data to prove his claims, Trump said the United States is now “the richest and most respected country in the world.” He also stated that the country has almost no inflation, when the rate is 3%, which is considered high by United States standards.
