The Venezuelan also declared that the “times of the Great Homeland” will return. “Be absolutely sure of this, sooner rather than later, to shine and ensure the emancipation of oppressed peoples”, he concluded.

“Totally closed”

Trump hours earlier told airlines and drug traffickers and people to consider the airspace above and around the country of Venezuela as closed. The announcement was made today at 9:43 am Brasília time on its social network, TruthSocial.

Trump did not provide further details. “Thank you for your attention”, concluded the publication.

The supposed closure signals the possibility of US operations in Venezuela. On Thursday, the American president said he would “soon” begin ground actions against Venezuelan drug traffickers.

Last week, the American government had already issued a warning that planes circulating in Venezuelan airspace should take precautions. According to the White House, this was due to “the worsening security situation and increased military activity in and around the country.
