STF schedules analysis of law that changed distribution of oil royalties
The Federal Supreme Court (STF) will analyze on May 6th, Tuesday, actions that discuss the distribution of oil royalties between the States. Under analysis will be the constitutionality of Law 12,734/2012, which established new rules for sharing royalties, increasing distribution to non-producing states.
The actions are reported by minister Cármen Lúcia. They were filed by Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, São Paulo and the Brazilian Association of Municipalities with Maritime Terminals (Abramt).
The provisions of the law have been suspended since 2013, due to an injunction granted by the minister in one of the actions.
