Chamber elects Odair Cunha (PT-MG) TCU minister with 303 votes in favor
The Chamber of Deputies elected federal deputy Odair Cunha (PT) to the position of minister of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) with 303 votes in favor, this Tuesday, 14th. Odair will occupy the post left by Aroldo Cedraz on February 26th of this year. The PT member’s name will still be considered by the Federal Senate.
Odair had the support of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), through an agreement reached in 2024. The PT candidate’s candidacy was endorsed by 12 parties.

Term of office will be two years; Possession is scheduled for the end of May
Odair’s competitor, deputy Elmar Nascimento (União-BA) was second, with 96 votes. Danilo Forte (PP-CE) had 27 votes; Hugo Leal (PSD-RJ) obtained 20 votes; Gilson Daniel (Podemos-ES), six votes; Soraya Santos (PL-RJ), three votes; and Adriana Ventura (Novo-SP), one vote. The Chamber counted two blank votes.
