Network endorses Marina’s candidacy for the Senate and calls Tarcísio ‘disastrous’
The São Paulo State Executive of the Rede Sustentabilidade party expressed, this Tuesday, 21, support for the pre-candidacy of former Minister of the Environment Marina Silva for the Senate and that of former Minister of Finance Fernando Haddad (PT) for the state government. The party also classified the government of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) as “disastrous”, pointing out the “need to regain the capacity” of the State.
“The State’s current challenges, worsened by the disastrous government of Tarcísio de Freitas, highlight the need to regain planning capacity, strengthen social policies, tackle inequalities and prepare the territory for the impacts of climate change”, says the note.
Valdemar meets Eduardo and says he is ‘confident’ in André do Prado for the Senate
Valdemar Costa Neto and André do Prado were in Texas, in the United States to meet with former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL), also considered for the vacancy in SP
Still in the note, the Network recognizes the former Minister of the Environment as “one of the greatest ethical and political references in Brazil and the world” and praises her trajectory, described by “coherence” and “uncompromising defense of life, democracy and sustainability”.
The Network’s positioning comes after internal tensions involving the former minister’s candidacy for the Senate. At the beginning of the month, the party’s national directory had published a note criticizing Marina’s decision to remain in the party, amid rumors, during this year’s party window, that she would leave the party.
On April 4, she confirmed that she would stay in the party, which she helped to found, and thanked the invitations received and the dialogues with other acronyms, such as PT, PV and PSOL. On the 8th, management stated that they had received the announcement with “indignation and perplexity” and accused Marina of refusing to engage in dialogue.
The following day, Marina countered, stating that there were internal disagreements within the party leadership, but that it was not a lack of dialogue or disrespect for the Network’s manifesto.
“I can’t imagine that anyone could propose denying me the subtitle on Rede Sustentabilidade”, he stated in an interview with GloboNews.
