Tarcísio says that there are aging leaders who don’t realize it’s time to stop

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), stated this Saturday (25) that there are today, in Brazil, “aged leaders” who do not realize that “it is time to stop”. Without mentioning President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) by name, Tarcísio, who is a candidate for re-election to the São Paulo government in these elections, also defended that it is “time to take a turn”.

“We need renewal. One of Brazil’s problems is the slow process of replacing politics. It’s people who become outdated and don’t realize that it’s time to stop. That it’s time to give up. And they become outdated and impose delay on Brazil. And that’s what happens today. An aging leadership. A leadership that no longer has anything to offer. A leadership incapable of understanding the new challenges”, he declared, during an event to deliver the modernization of an Emergency Room in Monteiro Lobato (SP), in the Paraíba Valley. The unit had an investment of R$1.6 million.

Alternation

The governor said he recognized that the alternation must also reach him: “I know that this day will come for me too. The day to get out of this”, he declared. The statements come at a time when Tarcísio is being asked to give a more emphatic defense to senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic and who today, according to voting intention polls, is technically tied with Lula in the race for the Palácio do Planalto.
