ABIN PARALLEL: PF sees criminal responsibility, but does not indicate Bolsonaro; understand
The Federal Police pointed out Jair Bolsonaro’s participation in the illegal espionage scheme of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), but the former president was not listed on the list of defendants because he is already responsible for the same accusation in the Supreme Court (STF) in the coup plot action.
In the final report of the investigation of the case known as Abin Parallel, the PF pointed to evidence of Jair Bolsonaro’s participation in the illegal spying network of the intelligence agency. According to investigators, the former president was aware of the scheme and was his main beneficiary.
But the corporation understood that it will be up to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to assess whether the former president should be responsible for the crime of criminal organization in two different inquiries, the parallel ABIN and the coup plot.

During Abin Parallel investigations, the PF shared evidence with the scammer’s inquiry because it understood that there was a connection between the cases.
In March this year, Bolsonaro became a defendant for joining a criminal organization that plotted a blow. Now, with the completion of the parallel Abin investigation, the PGR should decide whether the former president will be charged with the same crime in the Supreme Court.
By presenting the list of defendants in the case of ABIN parallel, the PF indicated 36 people who were part of the scheme in different ways. Among them are Rio de Janeiro councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL), former director of the intelligence agency Alexandre Ramagem and the current director general of the agency, Luiz Fernando Corrêa. The suspects deny the accusations.

According to the PF, the group would have used clandestine monitoring tools to spy on authorities, political opponents, journalists, environmentalists, lawyers, and spread fake news.
