After arrest of 300 South Koreans in the US, President promises support
South Korea President Lee Jae Myung has today ordered every effort to quickly respond to the country’s hundreds of US citizens in a US immigration hit at a Hyundai Motor automotive battery factory.
Foreign Minister Cho Hyun said the government set up a team to respond to the arrest of more than 300 Koreans on Thursday (4) at the factory in the state of Georgia in the southern United States, and that he could go to Washington to meet with authorities if necessary.
“I am deeply concerned. I feel great responsibility for the prisons of our citizens,” Cho said at an emergency government meeting.
