Bolsonaro’s children react with attacks on Moraes and see operation as “humiliation”
The Federal Police (PF) operation imposed precautionary measures on former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) provoked immediate reactions from his children, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP).
Both accused Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of abuse of authority and political use of justice, amid the advance of investigations into the coup plot.
The PF offensive was triggered on Friday (18), based on evidence that the former president funded actions to attack national sovereignty and interfere with the independence of powers. The episode gained more serious contours after the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump to Brazil – a measure that, according to the PF, originated in articulations led by Bolsonaro allies.

PF finds Rumble’s petition against Moraes at Bolsonaro’s house
This week, the Florida Federal Court had authorized that the companies Rumble and Trump Media, linked to the US President Donald Trump, attach a new order of Minister Alexandre de Moraes to the action that move against the Brazilian magistrate
“Typical of an Inquisition”
In a publication on social networks, Flávio Bolsonaro accused Moraes of acting for “hatred” and said that the decision to prevent the former president of maintaining contact with ambassadors and his own son is a “purposeful humiliation.”
“Stay firm, father, will not shut up! The purposeful humiliation will make scars in our souls, but will serve as a motivation to continue fighting for our free of despotes,” wrote the senator.
He compared the case to an “Inquisition” and mocked the choice of the date of the operation: “The ruse is so much, which does exactly at the beginning of parliamentary recess, when Brasilia is empty. But its calculation certainly forgot to take into account that today, Jul, is Mandela Day.”
Answer to Trump’s letter
Eduardo Bolsonaro, who is in the United States and has conducted articulations with Trump’s allies, also manifested in English on social networks. According to him, the operation would be a response from Moraes to the recent letter sent by Donald Trump in support of Jair Bolsonaro.
PF investigators stated that the former president publicly admitted to funding Eduardo in the US against STF ministers with R $ 2 million. The corporation sees in Trump’s recent measures a direct reflection of this offensive, which would justify the adoption of preventive actions to avoid any escape from the former president.
Moraes’ operation included search and seizure warrants at Bolsonaro’s residence and liberal party headquarters (PL), as well as the imposition of an electronic anklet, nighttime collection (between 19h and 7h) and on weekends. The former president is also prohibited from visiting embassies or maintaining contact with diplomats.
According to the PF, Bolsonaro would have already considered taking refuge in some diplomatic representation to escape any prison – behavior considered as indicative of concrete risk of escape.
The measures were taken after representation of the PF and favorable opinion of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The operation occurs in parallel to the criminal action that already runs in the Supreme Court, in which Bolsonaro is a defendant for attempted coup.
