Brazilian government sees US authority publications as “attacks on sovereignty”

Government announces release of R$ 7.66 billion in amendments for the next 2nd

The Brazilian government issued an official response on Saturday (9) to criticism made by United States authorities directed at the Supreme Court Minister (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.

The executive classified American statements as a direct attack on national sovereignty and Brazilian democracy. The note emphasized that Brazil will not submit to external pressures, regardless of origin.

“Arrogant”

Following the official demonstration of the government, the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, used her social networks to comment on the episode. She qualified the publication of diplomat Landau as “arrogant” and a serious offense to Brazil, the Supreme Court and the truth. Gleisi also took the opportunity to criticize the performance of the Bolsonaro family in the current political context.

The minister stressed that the true anomaly lies in the situation of fugitives of the Brazilian justice and the performance of platforms that operate in the country, but disrespecting national laws and decisions. She stressed that the three powers – executive, legislature and judiciary – are united in the repudiation of the coup on January 8, with the pressure exercised by Donald Trump, to the scholarship riot for amnesty and the sanctions imposed against Alexandre de Moraes and other STF ministers.

Gleisi Hoffmann stressed that no Brazilian constitutional power is weakened or powerless in the face of recent challenges. The minister also criticized the attempted political blackmail and the actions that, according to her, pay against the legal order of the country.

At the end of her demonstration, the minister stated that if the United States wish to restore the traditional historical friendship with Brazil, they must respect national sovereignty, Brazilian laws and the decisions of justice. This statement reinforces the position of the Brazilian government to defend its autonomy and the independent functioning of its institutions.
