Flávio compares Lula to “Opala” and states that Haddad was “the best minister in Paraguay”
The senator and pre-candidate for Palácio do Planalto, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), stated this Wednesday (11) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is an “outdated and outdated product” and that “he was beautiful in the past, but today he is not taking him anywhere”.
During an interview at a BTG Pactual event, Flávio stated that it won’t take long for his name to be ahead in the electoral polls. He also took the opportunity to criticize the PT administrations led by the current president and highlighted what he considered a stagnation with welfare.

The PL senator also took advantage of the moment to criticize the economic management headed by Fernando Haddad, whom he classified as “the best Finance Minister in Paraguay” for the tax policy that allegedly removed companies from Brazilian soil.
“Today we have a Finance Minister who is the best Finance Minister in Paraguay, because he is managing to take Brazilian industries there”, He stated. “Tax reform has become an even bigger mess. Self-employed professionals will pay taxes like never before in their lives.”
During the conversation, the senator avoided saying who his Finance Minister will be and the names that will make up the government’s technical team, but highlighted that “he will certainly be much better than Fernando Haddad”. For the senator, his minister will have to surpass the performance of Paulo Guedes, who headed the department during Jair Bolsonaro’s government.

Asked about what his relationship with legislative and judicial institutions would be like if elected, Flávio highlighted that he tried to build bridges, but that there was no “self-restraint” from the Federal Supreme Court.
“When that doesn’t happen, it’s another external power that has to do (restraint), in this case the Senate. As far as it depends on me, I will always seek dialogue. We’re going to win the elections with our brains, not with our livers,” he said in a new reference to Lula and alcoholic beverages.
The pre-candidate concluded by stating that the 2026 election will not be about Lula and Bolsonaro, but about the path Brazil wants to follow. “Whether it is the path of prosperity, which we are going to propose, or the path of darkness”, he concluded.
