Governors say that Bolsonaro allies kidnapped plenary and await Motta

While opposition parliamentarians occupy the House plenary with gags in the mouth in protest to precautionary measures against former President Jair Bolsonaro ordered by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the PT leader in the House, Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ), classified the act as a sequestration of the Legislature.

“I already talked to the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) twice today. He will return to Brasilia, take over his chair and restore normality,” said Farias. Motta fulfilled, this afternoon, schedule in the Northeast along with Health Minister Alexandre Padilha.

Bolsonaro’s allies in Congress say they will occupy plenary in protest

In a statement in front of the congress, they defended amnesty project, end of the privileged forum and the impeachment of Alexandre de Moraes

According to the PT leader, what is happening in Parliament is unacceptable. “They want to stop by force legislative work. This is another attack on institutions, as was January 8th. They are making a movement that only has one goal that is to rid the face of Bolsonaro,” he accused.

The Docpsb leader, Deputy Pedro Campos (PSB-PE) highlighted Trump’s measures to save Bolsonaro and, according to him, cannot be above the country’s interests. “We are here to defend interests of the Brazilian people because of these measures, such as the worker who was ready to gather mango. We will not accept intervention of our national sovereignty,” he said.

Campos defended a firm response from the house and stated that there is already an agenda approved by the College of Leaders for this week and that it does not contemplate the amnesty project – one of the demands of the pockets.

Offensive of opposition against the Supreme Court must bump into constitutional limits

Proposals as impeachment of ministers, end of the forum and expansion of the Court resurface in Congress after house arrest of the former president, but will face obstacles

Deputy Jandira Feghali (PCdoB-RJ) stated that when they cover their mouths, opposition parliamentarians try to cover the mouth of their own parliament, as the dictatorship did.

Deputy Erka Hilton also defended the right of parliamentarians from opening the session, as convened by the House, and were prevented by the opposition group. “They are not a majority, and even if they were, they would not have this right. There is a lack of commitment to democracy, he said.

Plenary

Bolsonarist deputies occupy the plenary, including the place for the president of the table at the table. Parliamentarians also use gags in the mouth in protest

According to Deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR), the expectation of the oppositionists is that President Hugo Mota talk to them, when returning from travel and place the amnesty project in vote. Until then, they promise to obstruct work in the House.
