Israel keeps main humanitarian aid route to Gaza closed
The Rafah crossing, on the border between Gaza and Egypt, remained closed this Wednesday (15), despite reports of its reopening to allow a massive flow of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian territory, as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
Earlier in the day, Israeli public broadcaster KAN said the reopening was imminent, but humanitarian sources told AFP it had not yet happened and a government spokeswoman ignored questions about the matter.
UN humanitarian operations chief Tom Fletcher expressed frustration that humanitarian aid was still not flowing into the devastated Palestinian territory despite the ceasefire.
