José Guimarães will be the government’s new political coordinator, announces Planalto
(Reuters) – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva chose the government leader in the Chamber, José Guimarães (PT-CE), to take over the political coordination of the government from next week, reported Palácio do Planalto this Saturday.
The appointment of Guimarães as minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, informed the palace, should be published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union next Monday.

‘At the invitation of President Lula, I inform you that I have accepted the mission and next Tuesday (14), I will take office as minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations replacing former minister Gleisi Hoffmann,’ said the leader on his profile on X.
Gleisi left the office to run for the Senate in the October elections in Paraná.
