Lula says the world is difficult and that Trump “is there threatening everyone”
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Friday, 10th, that the geopolitical situation is “difficult” because the president of the United States, Donald Trump, is “threatening everyone”. In a joking tone, Lula said that Trump would not turn against Brazil because he is from the Northeast and is descended from Virgulino Ferreira da Silva (1898-1938), the cangaceiro Lampião.
“The world is difficult, Trump is there threatening everyone. Trump doesn’t know what a Pernambuco is, otherwise he won’t ever threaten here. If he knew about my descent from Lampião, he would be very careful. If he knew what a nervous northeasterner is, he wouldn’t fight with Brazil”, stated Lula.

Lula also declared that Brazil does not have the same medical equipment as China and the United States due to a lack of “willing” people.
The president once again said that Brazil is not interested in getting involved in global conflicts and that those who want war should go to the “other side of the world”. Since the end of February, there has been a conflict in the Middle East that began after a joint US and Israeli operation that culminated in the death of Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The effects of the crisis are affecting Brazil, especially in the fuel sector.
“We don’t want war, we want peace. We want access to culture, touring, studying, dating, playing. We only want good things. Whoever wants war, goes to the other side of the planet, because here we are the land of peace and love and of those who are not afraid of being happy”, he said.
