Mothers deal with debt and sequelae

From 2017 to worse, says leader
Germana Soares is one of the founders of the Mothers of Angels, Pernambuco Union, who struggles to improve the treatment conditions of these children. “Everything was flowing relatively well, with even acceptable assistance, until Zika left the public emergency in 2017. Since then, it’s just a slope below,” he says.
From there, the children began to suffer with neglect, which led them to a condition of unworthiness, of lack of quality of life. Then began the largest number of deaths, which are directly linked to the lack of assistance and support.

She mentions that there are no decentralized services, nor professionals trained in enough. “We fight basically for the same things from ten years ago. We couldn’t improve care, health, nor inclusion,” he says.
What I say to mothers who may live this reality: they will say that your child will not live either three months or a year. We have been through this too, but diagnosis is not a destination! My advice is that they expose their difficulties, put their mouths in the trombone. If this child cannot walk or talk, this mother has to talk and walk for her. She has to have a voice, because if she hides indoors, we will not get a more inclusive society.
