MP authorizes use of FGTS to finance philanthropic hospital entities
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva issued Provisional Measure 1,336, which authorizes the use of part of the resources from the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS) for financing operations aimed at philanthropic and non-profit hospital entities. The MP is published in an extra edition of Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Friday, 6th, and was signed by Lula in Salvador (BA).
According to Palácio do Planalto, the measure benefits institutions that work with people with disabilities and entities that participate in a complementary way in the Unified Health System (SUS). The expectation is that R$4 billion will be allocated to philanthropic entities this year, without reducing the FGTS resources already foreseen for housing, sanitation and infrastructure.
The use of FGTS for these credit operations was authorized between 2019 and 2022. The MP now reestablishes this possibility until 2030.
