Soraya Thronicke leaves Podemos and joins the PSB with an eye on re-election to the Senate
Senator Soraya Thronicke (MS) formalized her departure from Podemos and joined the PSB last Friday, 3rd. The registration was made in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) system one day before the end of the party window. With her term ending in 2027, she must run for re-election in October.
The migration had the support of vice-president Geraldo Alckmin. In Mato Grosso do Sul, Thronicke must form a ticket with federal deputy Vander Loubet (PT), who is seeking a seat in the Senate for the first time.
Thronicke has had four party changes in less than ten years. In 2018, she was elected senator for the PSL. With the merger of the acronym with DEM, he joined União Brasil in 2021. For the party, he ran for President of the Republic in 2022 and obtained 0.51% of the valid votes, the fifth best result in the dispute. The following year, he migrated to Podemos, where he assumed internal leadership in the State.
