White House Trade Counselor Peter Navarro, minimized on Sunday the insults of Elon Musk, saying that “Elon and I are great” after a public discussion about President Donald Trump’s fares.

Musk, Tesla’s billionaire CEO and Trump’s close ally, called Navarro at the beginning of Navarro a “idiot” after the consultant rejected Musk’s proposal for “zero tariffs” between the US and Europe. Navarro had called Musk “car automaker” dependent on imported automotive parts.

Asked about the tension in NBC’s “Meet The Press” program, Navarro said, “It’s not a problem.” “Even if he called you an ‘idiot’ and ‘stupuer than an brick bag?'” He pressed the NBC anchor. “I was called worse things,” replied Navarro.
