USA Puning Brazil for doing what they should have done
In a Senate lecture, US writer Steven Levitsky, author of the bestseller “how democracies die,” said it was “ironic” the fact that the US president of Donald Trump punish Brazil to “do what Americans should have done.”
Speech referred to the criminal action in which former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is a defendant in the Supreme Court (STF) for plotting a coup d’état to remain in power after losing the 2022 elections, which culminated in the invasion of the buildings of the three powers in Brasilia, on January 8, 2023. The episode is compared to the capitolia invasion by trumpians in January 2021, in January 2021 Washington, after Trump loses his elections, and for which the Republican was not held responsible.
“The great irony is that the United States is punishing Brazil today for doing what Americans should have done. As an American citizen, I am ashamed of this situation,” said Tuesday, 12, during a seminar in Brasilia.
