Valdemar 'will beat them', says Lula after posing with PL mayors at event

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) joked about the possible reaction of the PL president, Valdemar Costa Neto, with the photo in which the PT member appears alongside mayors from former president Jair Bolsonaro’s party. The meeting was recorded this Monday in Mauá, in São Paulo, where the PT member participated in the announcement of acquisitions in the fields of education and health.

— The president of their party (Valdemar Costa Neto) is going to beat them, because they are in a photo with me — said Lula.

Lula’s statement took place alongside five mayors and two municipal secretaries who represented cities with ambulances financed with resources from the federal government. Among those present on stage, only the mayor of Mauá, Marcelo Oliveira (PT), is an ally of the Planalto occupant.

Opportunity with security!

Mayors Tite Campanella, from São Caetano do Sul, and Guto Volpi, from Ribeirão Pires, are part of the Valdemar party. After the photo, Lula told those present that the PL is the government’s “biggest enemy” in the Chamber.

At an event in Mauá (SP), the president criticized his predecessor for discriminating against states where he lost and stated that his government is allocating more resources to São Paulo than previous administrations

— Even so, you are receiving an ambulance because you were elected by vote and I respect the vote of the people of your city — he added.

With the delivery announced this Monday, the region now has 34 new ambulances from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) 192. They were destined for the municipalities of Greater ABC. Santo André received ten ambulances; Diadem, nine; São Bernardo do Campo, seven; Mauá, four; São Caetano do Sul, two; Ribeirão Pires, one; and Rio Grande da Serra, one.

The event also marked the acquisition and renovation of the Mauá Campus building of the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP), with an estimated investment of R$44.8 million through the Novo PAC. The new unit will serve around 1,400 students. On that occasion, R$37.4 million was also announced for the Unified Health System (SUS) of Mauá.
