Filmed by the statue of Justice in front of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on January 8, in Brasilia, the hairdresser Débora Rodrigues dos Santos left the Rio Claro women’s resocialization center, in the interior of São Paulo. According to the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration of São Paulo (SAP), the departure occurred on the night of last Friday (28).

“The Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration informs that the person mentioned was placed in house arrest yesterday (Friday), at 20h, after the direction of the Rio Claro Women’s Resocialization Center to comply with the license issued by the Supreme Court,” the SAP said in a statement.

By order of STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes, Deborah had the pre-trial detention converted into house arrest on Friday. She became known for writing the phrase “lost, Mané” in the statue of justice during the coup act of January 8, 2023.

According to the decision of Moraes, the accused will comply with house arrest in Paulínia (SP), where he resides. Deborah should wear electronic anklet, will not be able to wear social networks or have contact with other investigated. Is also prohibited from giving interviews to the press, Blogs and podcasts national or international without authorization from the Supreme Court. In case of non -compliance, it should return to the prison.

In a statement, Debora’s defense celebrated the decision. “Throughout the period of his detention, Deborah was away from her family and her children, living a situation that, in the view of the defense, was completely disproportionate and without solid basis in evidence. The decision of her liberation symbolizes the hope that even in difficult times, truth and justice will prevail,” the lawyers wrote.

Judgment

The trial that will decide whether Deborah will be convicted last week, but was interrupted by a request for a view of Minister Luiz Fux. Prior to the suspension, the rapporteur of the case, Alexandre de Moraes, voted to convict Deborah to 14 years in prison in a closed regime.

In a statement given last year to the Supreme Court, Debora Rodrigues said she regrets having participated in the acts and having stroked the statue.

Crimes

According to Moraes’s decision, when serving more than 25% of the sentence in the event of conviction, the accused could already be in progression of the regime. The decision, however, does not nullify the accusations to which Deborah responds.

The sum to reach the 14 -year penalty was made as follows:

• Violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law (4 years and 6 months);

• Study: (5 years);

• Armed criminal association (1 years and 6 months);

• Qualified damage: (1 year and 6 months);

• Deterioration of listed assets (1 year and 6 months);

• Closed regime: Feathers older than 8 years start in closed regime.

• Indemnity of R $ 30 million: All convicted by January 8 will have to pay the amount jointly and severally for the data caused by the depredation.
