Given as missing in Thailand, young man is attached to 6,400 km away
According to local TV station Rustavi 2, Bella claimed she is pregnant. The information, however, has not been confirmed by the British media so far, and Georgiana broadcaster has given no more details about the supposed pregnancy. After the hearing, Bella was sent to an exclusive preventive detention center for women in Rustavi, southeastern Georgia.
If considered guilty, Bella could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison or, in a more severe punishment, to life imprisonment. According to local authorities, she should have a meeting with the British consular service to plan her defense strategy and the UK Foreign Ministry confirmed that she is “supporting the family of a British woman detained in Georgia.”
Her whereabouts were unknown
Bella traveled to the Philippines right after Easter. In an interview with Teessidelive Portal, Lyanne Kennedy, her mother, said her daughter was traveling with a friend and went to Thailand on the 3rd.
Lyanne reported that she had agreed to make a video call with her daughter. “The last message she sent was to me on Saturday at 5:30 pm, saying she would call me by Facetime later. That was the last message someone received.” Since then, the family has not had contact with the girl anymore, and her phone remained off.
Prior to the release of Bella’s arrest, her father and aunt had traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to find out more about her whereabouts. According to the British newspaper Independent, Neil Culley, Bella’s father, traveled to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
