Eduardo Bolsonaro calls Moraes “Tyran de Estrada de Estrada” after inquiry
Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) intensified his criticism with the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on Tuesday (27), after Minister Alexandre de Moraes open an inquiry to investigate his performance in the United States against Brazilian authorities. Licensed from office and residing abroad, Eduardo classified Moraes as a “roadside tyrant that shames justice”.
The opening of the inquiry was determined on Monday (26) by the minister, following a request from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The investigation is based on publications and statements by Eduardo in which he defends the imposition of sanctions by the Trump government against STF ministers, especially Moraes. The case arose from a criminal representation presented by the PT leader in the House, Deputy Lindbergh Farias (RJ).

“You will pay for your crimes”
On social networks, Eduardo stated that the Brazilian state would be becoming a “criminal organization” and that “systematic violations of universal human rights” are being perceived by the international community.
“Soon, you will pay for your crimes,” wrote the parliamentarian in a threatening tone on social networks.
Eduardo also criticized the performance of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in the case, claiming that the body, being the target of his statements, should declare himself prevented. He asked the same question about Moraes, stating: “It is obvious the impediment of a prosecutor and judge who claim to be ‘target’ of the measures intended by the ‘investigated’.”
According to Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, there is “breach of impartiality” and violation of due process of law in the case. He also stressed that his actions occurred under the jurisdiction of the United States.
Legal clash
Eduardo argues that his political actions in the United States were legally carried out within the American jurisdiction, and that, therefore, the Supreme Court would have no competence to take action against it.
“Once again, the Moraes troupe invades this jurisdiction and wanks to itself the right to punish people under their protection and regulation,” Eduardo Bolsonaro said in his defense.
The parliamentarian says he will continue abroad as long as there is no changes in what he classifies as a “state of exception” in Brazil.
Government silence, but PT presses
Despite the severity of the accusations and the international repercussion of the case, the federal government has not yet publicly manifested itself on Eduardo’s statements or its international action. Meanwhile, the PT intensifies joints in Congress in response to the episode.
Lindbergh Farias has announced that he intends to trigger the House’s Ethics Council to request Eduardo’s mandate, alleging “aggression to national sovereignty” and attempted intimidation to the Supreme Court.
