Brazilian lawyer says he was expelled from Bolivia for defending Morales
Document delivered Agra says that the statements made by the lawyer are interpreted as “political interference”. The measure was formalized by Digemig (Directorate General of Migration), claiming that public statements made by him on social networks and the press, were a form of intervention in Bolivian politics. The lawyer shared a photo of the document.
Lawyer presented a Legal opinion that contested the decision of the TCP (Plurinational Constitutional Court) to impossible the former president to run for presidential elections of 2025. The agency established that the President and the Vice-President could only hold the position for two mandates, continuous or not, preventing a third candidacy.
Appeal states that the Bolivian Constitution does not prohibit consecutive reelection and declares the TCP’s decision as unconstitutional. According to the opinion, the decree is constituted by an “abrasion unconstitutionality, through an unauthorized constitutional mutation, as it replaces the literal and intentional content of the original text with an expanding interpretation not founded on the letter of the norm or constituent will.”
In addition to defending Morales, Agra participated in action that resulted in the ineligibility of former President Jair Bolsonaro until 2030. Born in Campina Grande (PB), Walber became known nationally after signing the action of the PDT (Democratic Labor Party) that made Bolsonaro ineligible, for abuse of political power and misuse of the media during a meeting with ambassadors in July 2022.
