Israel resumes air sending food to Gaza; UN says it’s ineffective
Tonight, humanitarian aid deliveries will resume, as part of the ongoing efforts to allow and facilitate the entry of help in Gaza.
Israel army, in a statement
Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN Agency for Palestinian refugees, said early today that air release is ineffective. For him, this strategy is “expensive, ineffective and can even kill hungry civilians,” according to a post published in X.
According to the UN, 6,000 humanitarian aid trucks await authorization to pass the borders of Jordan and Egypt. “Earth help is easier, effective, fast, cheap and safe.”
Sending help with parachute left 12 dead in 2024. A “malfunction” of one of the parachutes sent with supplies made the food fall into the sea in Beit Lahia. In all, 12 people who swam to the humanitarian aid packages drowned.
Israel could not prove that Hamas steals food
There is no evidence that Hamas steals the UN food, as stated by Israel to justify hunger in the region. Military sources heard from The New York Times have stated that despite the extremist group’s theft records against smaller humanitarian groups, there is no evidence that foods distributed by the UN, which makes most humanitarian aid in the country, have been plundered.
