US Air Force plane that landed in Brazil is used by CIA
However, Embassy of the United States in Brazil said that plane was on “diplomatic mission”. In response to Facto Newsthe US Embassy press office said the plane “offered logistical support to the country’s diplomatic mission” and that the arrival “was authorized by the competent Brazilian authorities.”
Aircraft landed in Porto Alegre at 5:13 pm yesterday, coming from San Juan, in Puerto Rico. The plane’s route began on Monday at McGuire Air Base in New Jersey, with scales in Tampa, Florida, and San Juan before coming to Brazil, according to Flight Radar information.
After landing in Porto Alegre, the plane took off around 7:52 pm and landed hours later at Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, where he remains this morning. In a statement, GRU Airport, Guarulhos concessionaire, confirms the landing of the aircraft in question last night, with authorization from the Ministry of Defense.
It was not officially disclosed the reason for the scale in Brazil, despite being authorized by the Brazilian Ministry of Defense. GRU Airport also reported that the operation occurred normally and without problems.
Plane is a military version of the Boeing 757-200, used to transport US officials, such as the president, vice president, military leaders and members of the cabinet. The aircraft takes up to 45 passengers and can fly up to 5,500 nautical miles without replenishing.
