Judge contradicts Trump and blocks National Guard use in California
Federal Government violated a rule that limits federal intervention. According to the judge, the Trump government had no right to use military force for domestic affairs.
“There was no rebellion, nor were the Civil Police unable to respond to the protests and enforce the law,” the magistrate wrote in the decision. Charles Breyer has blocked the use of guard “to execute the laws,” including arrests, seizures, multitudes control and disorder control, among others.
Sentence is on hold until Friday. The federal government has until September 12 to appeal.

National Guard was moved to Los Angeles on June 7. “Los Angeles was the first US city where President Trump and Secretary Hegseth mobilized troops, but not the last,” said Judge Charles Breyer.
Trump also moved troops to Washington DC. In August, the military force was moved to the federal capital after criticism of the president about public safety in the city.
