LIVE: Special Risk Map analyzes the effects of the meeting between Lula and Trump
The meeting between Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Donald Trump at the White House will be the subject of a special edition Risk Map live this Friday (8), at 2pm, with the participation of political scientist Guilherme Casarões (Florida International University).
After months of diplomatic uncertainty and commercial friction, Lula met this Thursday (7) with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, at the White House, in Washington. The meeting, awaited for months behind the scenes, lasted around three hours and was classified as positive by both governments. Trump said on a social network that the conversation was “very good” and called Lula “very dynamic”, while the Brazilian president detailed in a press conference the main topics discussed.
The meeting takes place at a delicate moment for both countries: Lula faces internal political wear after defeats in Congress and falling approval ratings, and Trump maintains an aggressive stance in trade disputes, increasing pressure on allies and partners.
The program will discuss the political impact of the meeting on Lula, the Brazil-USA relationship after months of diplomatic friction and sensitive topics that remained outside the official agenda, such as the American investigation into Pix and the possibility of Brazilian factions being classified as terrorist organizations by the USA.
THE Risk Map It will also analyze Lula’s strategy in relation to rare earths and critical minerals — a subject discussed directly with Trump — and the electoral effects of the rapprochement between the two presidents. Donald Trump’s historic relationship with the Bolsonaro family adds an extra political component to the meeting.
The live episode of Risk Map airs this Friday (8) on YouTube InfoMoney and then on the main podcast platforms.
