Suspect of involvement in the murder of PCC whistleblower is arrested

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), announced this Friday, the 6th, that the Military Police arrested one of the suspects involved in the murder of Antonio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach. Reporter of the First Command of the Capital (PCC), the businessman was executed with rifle shots at Guarulhos Airport, in the metropolitan region, on November 8th. Gritzbach was hit by ten bullets in various parts of his body, including his head, chest and arms.

“After intelligence work, Rota police officers have just arrested one of the criminals involved in the murder of Vinicius Gritzbach, which took place at Guarulhos airport. He was arrested with rifle ammunition and is being taken to the DHPP”, Tarcísio published on social media.

The crime

Gritzbach had signed a plea bargain with the promise to hand over money laundering schemes by the First Capital Command (PCC) and also spoke about cases of police corruption. Gritzbach’s statement would have indicated that there were police officers who manipulated investigations to free PCC members from being accused of crimes, through the payment of bribes. Among the criminals, it was said that there was a price of R$3 million on the informer’s head.

According to preliminary information in the case, Gritzbach had just arrived from a trip with his girlfriend on November 8 and would be received at the airport by his son and a group of four security guards, made up of police officers who protected the businessman. On the way to the airport, however, one of the cars they used allegedly had mechanical failure. Three of the security guards would then have kept the vehicle. Thus, only one was at the airport at the time of the attack.

He tries to escape, is hit by gunfire and falls near the pedestrian crossing. It is possible to see other people running because of the shooting.

The attack occurred around 4 pm. An app driver who was at the scene was shot in the back and ended up dying the next day.
