Rains: Curitiba and other cities in PR are under alert for floods until the 10th

Residents of Curitiba (PR) and other cities in Paraná should prepare for heavy rains in the coming days, starting this Saturday (7). This is what information from the Paraná Meteorological System (Simepar) indicates, which predicts storms at least until next Tuesday (10).

According to Climatempo, the rainfall accumulated for the next few days is expected to exceed that expected for the entire month of December in the capital of Paraná.

The expectation is that the greatest volume of rainfall will be concentrated in the southwest region of the state, possibly exceeding 200 millimeters.

In the southern regions, Campos Gerais, the metropolitan region of Curitiba and the coast of Paraná, the accumulated figure should reach 150 millimeters. There is a possibility of storms with lightning and strong winds.

The northern region of Paraná, in turn, should also be hit by rain, but at a much lower intensity.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) published a “great danger” warning also for this Saturday, with rainfall accumulations above 100 millimeters and the risk of flooding and landslides.
