Braga Netto denies coup and says there was no plan to kill Lula, Alckmin and Moraes

In response, Braga Netto’s lawyers stated that the client “did not coordinate or approve any plan or provide resources”. The PF attributes the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état and criminal organization to the general. Combined, the maximum penalties for these crimes reach 28 years in prison.

Braga Netto is named by the PF as a central figure in the alleged coup attempt. According to the inquiry report, the so-called “coercive measures” provided for in the Punhal Verde e Amarelo plan, with operational planning for Special Forces actions, were intended to be presented to the general.

“The evidence obtained throughout the investigation shows his concrete participation in acts related to the attempted coup d’état and the abolition of the democratic rule of law, including the attempt to embarrass and obstruct the present procedure”, says the PF.
