Tax reform is “historical milestone”, says Lula after approval in the Chamber

The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Wednesday (18) that the regulation of tax reform, approved the day before by the Chamber of Deputies, is a “historical milestone”.

The project had final approval by Congress on Tuesday night (17) and now goes to the president for sanction.

“The approval of tax reform regulations is a historic milestone. After 40 years of discussions, we managed to build and approve a proposal that will guarantee a simpler, more efficient, fair and transparent tax system”, wrote Lula on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).

“It is a fundamental step to boost economic development, attract investments, foster the competitiveness of the productive sector and reduce social and regional inequalities”, continued Lula.

“This is a collective achievement, the result of dialogue, cooperation and commitment between different sectors of society, the Executive Branch and the National Congress and which positions the country on a more prosperous and sustainable path”, concluded the president.
