“Until November, losses from vandalization were estimated at 2.9 billion meticais (45 million euros), and more than 12 thousand jobs were directly affected,” he said.
“The level of vandalization of most of these establishments is such that they will not be able to resume operations immediately, directly putting more than 500,000 workers at risk,” he explained.

In a text published anonymously on one of the country’s news sites, a reader summarizes the crisis.
“I’ll start at the end: engineer Venâncio (who now wishes us happy holidays) had already threatened us that there would be no Christmas parties or end-of-year celebrations,” he said. “It decreed that religious festivals should be celebrated not in our homes, but in demonstrations in the streets. I am Catholic, I come from a Catholic family. I never thought that someone would have the intention of interfering in something as sacred as Christmas celebrations”, he stated .
“The dictator Maduro, of Venezuela, had already ordered the Christmas dates to be changed. Everyone laughed at this presumption. It could only be a joke, it could only come from the mouth of a clown. Unfortunately, in our case, Venâncio Mondlane’s commandments did not can be a source of laughter”, he warned.
