British minister denounces Musk’s ‘misinformation’ on UK matters

Musk, the richest man in the world and a key ally of US President-elect Donald Trump, mentioned on Thursday in X a case of sexual exploitation of more than 1,500 girls in northern England between 1997 and 2013, in which the authorities were blamed for not taking action.

“In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require prosecution approval before the police can charge suspects. Who was in charge of the CPS (the British Attorney General’s Office) when rapist gangs could exploit girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer,” he wrote.

“New elections should be organized in the United Kingdom,” he added.

Faced with this criticism, the British Minister of Health, Wes Streeting, reacted this Friday in an interview with the television channel ITV.

“I think some of the criticisms made by Elon Musk are errors of judgment and he is certainly misinformed,” replied the minister.

“But we are willing to work with Elon Musk, who I believe has an important role to play with his social network to help us and other countries address this serious issue. If he wants to work with us and engage, we will be happy to welcome you,” continued Wes Streeting.
