Pockets claim persecution and ask for help to Trump after complaint
Boconist groups on Telegram and WhatsApp have mobilized in the last 24 hours to respond to the complaint of PGR (Attorney General of the Republic), shows a monitoring prepared by a social networking consultancy.
The reaction involved three fronts: 1) the narrative of political persecution to Bolsonaro, 2) defense that there is a bias of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court) and the PGR to consider the complaint; 3) request for intervention by the Trump administration.
According to the consultancy Palver, which prepared a report by analyzing data from 94,000 groups on Telegram and WhatsApp, mentions of Bolsonaro’s complaint grew more than 35 times on WhatsApp and more than one hundred times on Telegram.
Among the videos that stand out for the shares, there is one of Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) arguing, without proof, that the complaint against Bolsonaro would have occurred after research indicated his victory over Lula in a second round.
A video of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) was also circulated arguing that the January 8-related punishments would be a political revenge and that the complaint against Bolsonaro seeks to divert attention from protests scheduled for March 16.
Bolsonarists also shared hopeful posts that there would be any intervention by the US President Donald Trump.
“The report shows that there are some featured narrative lines, including Bolsonaro’s in the position of victim, and that it was being persecuted by the judiciary,” says Luis Fakhouri, partner of Palver.
“As this decision was expected, the theme has been prepared in the Bolsonarist groups for a long time. What is new is the attempt to give the narratives strength seeking to involve US President Donald Trump as an element of hope. “
