Lawyer Celso Vilardi, who defends former President Jair Bolsonaro, said on Monday that he is still “trying” to extend the deadline to respond to the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against Bolsonaro and 33 people for attempted coup d’état.

The request was denied by the rapporteur, Alexandre de Moraes, and the period of 15 days given last Wednesday, 19, remains valid.

Vilardi spoke to journalists after meeting with the president of the Supreme Court (STF), Luís Roberto Barroso.

The meeting was in the minister’s office and lasted about 20 minutes. Upon entering, Barroso said he “serves people in general.” “As far as possible I attend, he said.

The lawyer also said he will request the cancellation of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid’s award-winning denunciation, former bolsonaro chief of orders. His testimony is one of the evidence that reinforces the complaint of PGR.

The Supreme Court said that lawyer Celso Vilardi presented the reasons for petitions he will enter, and Barroso said he will analyze the requests.
