International Transparency criticizes lack of access to information about Janja

Party parliamentarians from the New Party filed, on Wednesday (26), a representation in the Federal Court of Audit (TCU) requesting the investigation of possible irregularities in the use of airline tickets by the first lady Rosângela da Silva, Janja. The document questions the legality of the checking class granting for his trip to Rome in Italy in early February.

Legal base and questions

The party argues that the granting of the passage in the executive class does not meet the criteria of Decree No. 10.934/2022, which regulates the issuance of air tickets by the federal government. The text foresees the benefit only for state ministers and high -ranking servants on travel more than seven hours, a category in which Janja does not fit, as it does not occupy a formal position in the structure of the executive branch.

“Decree No. 10,934 of January 11, 2022, provides that only ministers and high -ranking employees are entitled to the benefit of the executive class,” the document says.

The new considers the expenditure “unnecessary and disproportionate” and asks TCU to adopt precautionary measures to avoid new emissions of executive tickets to the first lady. The representation also requests the responsibility of those involved and the reimbursement to the public coffers.

Travel to Rome and Total Costs

In Rome, Janja attended events of the global alliance against hunger and poverty and met with Pope Francis. The group that accompanied the trip included 12 people, including the Secretary of International Farm Affairs, Tatiana Rosito, three advisors to the Minister of Social Development, Wellington Dias, as well as four members of the Presidency of the Republic, three of them linked to the informal cabinet of the first lady.

The costs of the official mission totaled R $ 292,300 between tickets and daily, but some amounts have not yet been disclosed.

The party claims that this is not the first time that Janja travels with public resources with public resources and has advocated the need for a precautionary measure to avoid further undue expenses. The TCU has not yet spoken about the request.
