Octopus is caught ‘hitchhiking’ on Tubarão in New Zealand
The octopus of the Maori species “picking up a ride” with the mako shark was a mysterious find. According to Rochelle, the octopus usually stays at the bottom of the sea, while this shark is closer to the surface.
Tubarão-mako is one of the fastest ocean species and can reach more than 50 km/h. In the publication of the discovery, the researcher jokes that the octopus must have “had quite an experience.”
This meeting of the octopus with the shark is a reminder of the wonders of the ocean. By supporting initiatives to keep the oceans, we can ensure that extraordinary moments like this continue to happen
